Strengthening Our CMC Community: SHARED Group Administrative Support
Clearer Support, Better Communication
The Colorado Mountain Club has always been strongest when our Groups and Sections work closely together with the State Office. To improve member and leader support across our organization, we're excited to announce new Group Administration Leader Designations that will create clearer communication channels and better support for our volunteers.
Four Key Support Areas
We're asking each Group and Section to identify primary points of contact for four essential areas:
Role #1: Education Support - Assists School Directors with course improvement and curriculum maintenance
Role #2: Trip Leader Support - Maintains mentor leader rosters and supports Trip Leader School operations
Role #3: Safety & Risk Management - Contributes to safety policy reviews and incident management
Role #4: Volunteer Recognition - Manages recognition efforts and celebrates volunteer contributions
Your State Office Contacts
To ensure seamless coordination, we've designated specific State Office contacts for each area:
Ashley Kramer, Adult Programs Manager, will be your primary point of contact for:
- Trip Leader Support
- Volunteer Recognition
Graham Ottley, Adult Programs Director, will be your primary point of contact for:
- Education Support
- Safety & Risk Management
WHY THIS MATTERS
CMC can often feel like a complex organization to navigate, with members and leaders unsure of who to contact for support. The Adult Programs team is committed to improving this experience by clearly identifying both local Group support contacts and State Office partners. This structure will help ensure that when you need assistance, you know exactly who to reach out to.
Reestablishing Communication
Starting Monday, June 23rd, we'll be resuming monthly calls on the fourth Monday of each month to maintain regular communication with these designated roles. This will be an opportunity to share updates, address challenges, discuss best practices, and strengthen our collaborative efforts across all CMC Groups and Sections.
Getting Started
If your Group or Section is interested in participating in these designated roles, please identify your volunteers for each area and reach out to Ashley or Graham. We're excited to work with you to enhance support for our members and leaders throughout the CMC community.
Together, we can make CMC an even better place for outdoor education, adventure, and community building.
