Backpack the East Inlet Trail (Rocky Mountain NP): We'll backpack the East Inlet trail through a beautiful area of scenic waterfalls and gorgeous alpine lakes. Two backpacking days (5.1 miles and 1980 ft. gain/loss each) with a dayhiking day (7.9 miles 1530 ft. gain/loss) sandwiched between them.

While the leader has ~40 years of backpacking experience he has not done this specific trail, so this trip may have some exploratory aspects to it. 

Trip details:

Day 1: From East Inlet trailhead, backpack 5.1 miles to Slickrock campsite (two nights), near Lone Pine Lake. Ascent / descent: 1980 ft. / 468 ft.

Day 2: Dayhike to Fifth lake and return. 7.9 miles, 1533 ft. ascent / descent

Day 3: Backpack 5.1 miles out to East Inlet trailhead. Ascent / descent: 468 ft. /1980 ft. Possible side trip to Paradise Meadow (2 miles RT, 290 ft. ascent / descent)

You must have prior backpacking experience (at least one 3-day trip) in Colorado, and be familiar with and comfortable with your gear.
