2. In the case of an inclement weather forecast, this trip will be rescheduled.
3. We will shoot for base camp at 5.4-6.0 miles (water will determine base camp location), 9,200 ft. The weather will be chilly at night so I recommend a 20 degree sleeping bag.
4. The next day, we'll hike to Tanner Peak and surrounding trails. There are options here that will be discussed.
*5. Would like to stop at the Desert Reef Hot Springs on the way home. Again, we'll discuss
This is an early season backpack to get your backpacking body out on the trail. We'll be in the Wet Mountains with views of the Sang de Cristo Mountains (San Isabel National Forest) and the eastern plains. The trail goes through lush vegetation and meadow flowers with alpine and plains views.
Meeting Place: TBD by where folks are and carpooling options.
