BPX Trip – BPX 5-Day: Heart Lake and Snake River from Heart Lake TH (Yellowstone National Park)

A $100 deposit is required upon registration because the leaders are already making financial commitments for this trip.

All participants will share in the group costs, which are estimated at $500 per person. This includes each person's share of lodging before and after the backpack, the rental vehicle plus gas, and the backpacking permit fee.

A Zoom planning meeting will be held a few weeks before the departure date.

We will carpool from Golden in a rental vehicle. After making the long drive to Yellowstone on August 11, the first night will be spent in a motel near Moran, WY.

Participants should be knowledgeable about hiking in grizzly and black bear habitat.

The route will have multiple river fords, although water levels should be low in August.

After completing the backpack, we'll begin the drive back home. Plan on spending the final night in a motel along the way in Wyoming.
