The San Isabel area is a favorite for fall colors.  The trail is considered challenging.  Along with the ten essentials, including rain gear, consider trekking poles.  The trail is steep and rocky.  Bring lunch. We will eat trail side.  The map only shows one stream crossing.  It's early on the trail.  Bears are in the area.  Although I have stated 2MPH this may be an uncomfortable pace for some, if so, we will pace with the slower hiker.  This is a no drop hike.  We will stick together.  If one needs to turn around we all will.  I expect to be back at the trailhead before 5PM.  This will be an exploratory hike.  I have not hiked this trail. The objective is for everyone to have fun.

Well behaved, leash trained, Dogs are welcome.  Bring water for you and your pup.  If bringing a dog, plan to carry the poop with you (put the bag in an old peanut butter jar), or bury it.
