The Three Mile Creek trail is a beautiful fall hike that follows the west bank of Geneva Creek north from the trailhead, then crosses Geneva Creek and the Guanella Pass road. The trail is in a valley with many stream crossings with travel through aspen groves along with conifer forest. The route opens up into a meadow with great views of the aspens (10,600). From a point east of Spearhead Mountain, the trail begins to rise steeply away from the creek in a series of switchbacks. This adds another 900 feet with a climb up an elevation of 11,625 and a RT of 10 miles. At this point we have an option to continue to the Rosalie Trail.
We will meet at the Twin Forks Park & Ride on 285 at 6:30 am to organize carpools for no later than 6:45departure.
