Route conditions had some dirt sections in the 1st half mile, but then a significant amount of hard, water ice on the trail. High quality microspikes needed (i.e. Kahtoola Microspikes Traction System). One person with lesser quality spikes slipped and fell on the ice. Poles highly recommended - especially for descending from the summit of Legault Mountain.
