Join the Colorado Mountain Club for a virtual introductory session on Thursday, May 29, designed for those new to backpacking in Colorado or looking to refresh their knowledge. 

Co-hosted by the club’s Backpacking Section (BPX) and the Denver Group’s Backpacking School, this Zoom presentation will offer a practical overview of key risks and considerations for Colorado’s backcountry, essential gear recommendations, and how to make the most of CMC resources to build your backpacking skills and experience. 

Led by a seasoned CMC Backpacking School instructor and BPX Trip Leader, this session is packed with condensed insights drawn from the full CMC Backpacking School curriculum—perfect for anyone curious about taking their first (or next) overnight trip into the wild.
