Hiking – White Ranch Park
The first of THIS series of Ascending Hikes, this hike is 5.6 miles and 1,303 ft elevation gain. We will ascend the Belcher Hill Trail and return the same way. Our pace will reflect the purpose of conditioning for the season of upcoming Ascending Hikes.
Hiking – Sandstone Ranch Open Space
We will do a figure eight hike starting with the Juniper Valley Loop and then the Sandstone Meadow Trail Loop. This area has a lot of wildlife including Western Meadow Larks and Spotted Towhees.
Hiking – Mount Falcon
Late start and brisk pace with minimal stops - Hike Mt Falcon to Walker's Dream Trail: 6.8 miles, 1,579 feet elevation gain. Starting from the Mt Falcon East Parking Area proceed west .1 mile then turn SW onto the Hiker Only Turkey Trot Trail for 1.7 miles climbing steadily with good views of Red Rocks and Mt Morrison. Joining the intersection with Castle Trail continue West for 1.2 miles to a covered picnic pavilion, at the intersection with Walker's Dream turn North for .4 mile to arrive at the remnants of the effort to create a summer white house on Mt Morrison. Grand views along this last segment of trail of both the eastern plains and the continental divide to the west.
Ascending Hikes – White Ranch Park
This is the first of THIS Ascending hikes series. We will ascend the Belcher Hill Trail up and do a small loop at the top and descend the same trail. 5.6 miles RT and 1,303 ft elevation gain. Our pace will reflect less talking and more attention to our sensory experiencing of our body as it works, the challenges and what feels best for you when hiking, the surrounding nature. Hiking – Mayhem Gulch
This is the first of THIS series of Ascending Hikes conditioning hikes. This gently climbing trail ascends 900 ft with a pleasant loop in the trees on top. Our pace will reflect the purpose of conditioning for the season of upcoming ascending hikes. This hike will be at a pace that you select between 2.2 and 2.5 mph that stretches your endurance.
