Pulk (winter sled) seminar
Do you participate in hut-, ice climbing-, or winter camping-trips? Carrying the bulky and heavy gear required for winter activities or multi-day trips in the mountains has always been difficult. Modern-day outdoor-sportsters have taken notice of equipment development and transportation used by peoples of the far North for centuries - the sled (e.g., sleighs, snowsleds, or sledges). Pulks now find popular use in winter trips in Colorado. This seminar by speaker Ron Stokley will briefly cover the history of pulks as well as the features-of and considerations-for a good sled. In the past, sportsters had only two options: very expensive, foreign-made pulks; or DIY (Do It Yourself) builds. Now a US company has kits that may be purchased. Attendees may opt to purchase sled kits or components after the clinic, at a discount.
