The PPG strives to provide educational and social opportunities for its members by inviting guest speakers to share their outdoor experiences on a variety of topics. These monthly programs usually involve a presentation and then a question and answer opportunity.
Andrea and Andrew are endurance athletes living in Golden Colorado. Their passions lie in the heart of the Rocky Mountains training from one adventure to the next. Their accomplishments keep them motivated and searching for more. Andrew grew up with the mountains in his backyard but Andrea hiked her first mountain just 12 years ago in 2010. Today you will find out who they are, how they became endurance athletes but most of all, they want to share what it takes to prepare, execute and succeed when attempting big mountain records/adventures.
This past fall, Andre Sansone set a new record for women's supported Fastest Known Time (FKT) on the Nolan's 14 route in central Colorado's Sawatch Range. She also set the women's record for the most Colorado fourteeners climbed in 24 hours, ticking off 12 summits to beat the previous record of eight.
Doors open at 6:00pm, and the talk begins at 6:30. There will be time for Q&A at the end, and an opportunity to grab a pint nearby after the talk. Parking is free on site at Cottonwood.
