Stewardship Project Support  – Shuttle hikers to top of Pikes Peak; so they can hike down to the A-Frame on Barr Trail. Some of the hard work was done last year on the Pikes Peak A-Frame. Now for the fun part of cleaning up. We need drivers to shuttle hikers to the top of Pikes Peak and drop them off so they can help move debris from the A-Frame.
• When: Sat, Jul 29, 2023 from 05:15 AM to 06:00 PM

A 6:30 AM entrance will be free before open to the public
• Need: 6 drivers with vehicles depending upon capacity

Event Overview: We will have 25 people needing rides up the Pikes Peak Highway and dropped off on top at the Summit Visitor Center parking. They will then hike down to the A-Frame loading shingle and debris from last year’s renovation, depositing it at the Cog’s Mountain View siding. They will then continue hiking down Barr Trail to the Barr TH in Manitou Springs. There is an option to be contacted via phone to come to Barr Trail Head to pick people up later in the day and take them back to their cars at Safeway, 3275 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs.

Meeting Plan: We will meet at the Safeway, 3275 W. Colorado Ave, in Colorado Springs. All participants will arrive at 5:15 am to get into vehicles by 5:30 to be shuttled to the top of Pikes Peak where they will be dropped off. We will be using special placards allowing free and early entrance. You will be volunteering the use of your vehicle that can carry at least 4 other occupants (at least 5 in the vehicle) Meeting Place: https://goo.gl/maps/PZKRMRb3bByjJ5iE6

If you sign up, you will be contacted by the project leader (Dean Waits) to discuss details of trip. You are signing up to shuttle drivers UP to the top of Pikes Peak.

There is also an option to pick up hikers upon arrival at Barr Trail Head later in the day and return them to Safeway. If you would available for this, please let Dean know.
