Telemark Ski School

We want to help our Colorado community learn the skills necessary to get started on their telemark journey!

The 2024 Telemark Ski School of the Denver Group will celebrate 40+ years of providing quality volunteer instruction to hundreds of students hailing from all over Colorado! We help beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level telemark skiers learn and/or improve their telemark skiing skills. You don’t have to know how to telemark, we’ll teach you. Learn to telemark and look cool on the mountain. 😎

The School offers three different sessions on Sundays: one each in January, February, and March. The best way to use the School is to take at least two of the Sunday sessions and practice in between. But taking all three is even better! A "Tele Tuesday at Loveland" telemark practice day will be offered the second Tuesday after each session. Some instructors will be on hand to offer you telemark tips, if requested, to help you to improve your skiing. This is YOUR year for telemark skiing...come join the fun!

The school cost includes your non-refundable Loveland Ski Area lift ticket.*

*If you already have a Loveland Season Pass or a Loveland 4-pak lift ticket and don't require a lift ticket contact the School Director for a promo code to deduct the cost from your registration total.

Register for one, two, or three sessions:

General Skiing Ability

You must be able to comfortably and safely get on and off of a ski chairlift and be comfortable skiing green terrain. You don’t have to be able to telemark on the green terrain, but you do need alpine/downhill skiing skills. This is not a “how to ski if you’ve never skied” course.

If you don’t have telemark equipment (skis, boots, poles), you’ll have to rent it.

These are required: plastic telemark ski boots; modern metal-edged skis with a minimum waist of 80 mm; and downhill area or backcountry retractable ski poles.

XC (cross country) and XCD (cross country downhill) skis and boots, and long non-retractable ski poles are not appropriate for this school.
